BLOOMINGTON — Collaborative Solutions Institute, Illinois Wesleyan University and the McLean County Museum of History have scheduled free Lunch and Learn sessions through early 2014.

The sessions are held at the McLean County Museum of History, 200 N. Main St. in Bloomington, on the second Thursday of every month over the lunch hour — from 12:10 to 12:40 p.m. Attendees are welcome to bring their own brown bag lunches. Speakers and topics through February are:

Oct. 10 — Gabe Spalding, professor of physics at Illinois Wesleyan University; "Sculpting Light and Sound for Medicine and Science."

Nov. 14 — Irv Epstein, professor of educational studies, IWU; "The Whole World is Texting: Global Youth Protest and the Uses of Social and Digital Media. The cases of Chile, Spain and the U.S."

Dec. 12 — Tari Renner, mayor of Bloomington; "Full-Time Job, Part-Time Pay and No Honeymoon."

Jan. 9 — Linda French, professor and chairwoman of the IWU physics department, IWU; "Asteroids: Rogues and Rosetta Stones."

Feb. 13 — Ken Clements, professor of mathematics, Illinois State University; "New Light on Abraham Lincoln’s Oldest Manuscript."

Programs for March, April and May will be announced at a later date.
