BLOOMINGTON — The second installment of McLean County property taxes is due Tuesday.
Payments are accepted at the McLean County treasurer's office, Room M101, at the Government Center, 115 E. Washington St., Bloomington, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. that day. The office will be closed on Labor Day.
Payments also can be put in the tax payment drop box off the East Street entrance to the building; mailed; paid with a credit card online (fees apply); or paid at most local banks.
Taxes not paid by Sept. 2 will be assessed an interest penalty of 1½ percent per month.
On Oct. 28, the collector will petition the Circuit Court for judgment on all remaining delinquent taxes. All delinquent payments with interest and costs must be received by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 28, or they will go to the Oct. 29 tax sale.
Anyone with questions or who need a duplicate tax bill can call the treasurer's office at 309-888-5180.
