School boards: Challenger takes on 2 incumbents in Heyworth race

HEYWORTH - Incumbents Thomas Jannusch and Steve Beuttel face challenger Chuck Brannock for two seats on the Heyworth School Board. | Election HQ: Stories, candidate bios

The election is April 7.

A business analyst at State Farm Insurance Cos., Jannusch has twice been elected to the board and is its president. He wants to find alternative funding sources for public schools, and believes the board needs to continue providing vision and strategy.

Beuttel is a production manager at Nestle USA and has served two terms on the board. He believes the board's priority should be student growth and education. He wants to improve and challenge current methods without destroying key elements.

Brannock is a quality assurance coach at Country Insurance and Financial Services and is pastor of Faith Fellowship Center. His main goal is to work with the board to establish a vision for the future, and to explore opportunities for special needs children.

Incumbent Jean Schmidt is unopposed in her reelection bid.
