BLOOMINGTON — The National Weather Service is forecasting light snow Thursday night in parts of Central Illinois, including McLean, Woodford, Tazewell and Peoria counties.

Accumulations should be "minimal," said the agency.

Snow will become more widespread on Friday, diminishing by evening. Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the Peoria area.

More light snow will develop late Friday night, said NWS, continuing through Saturday night. Snowfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches are anticipated by Sunday morning.

The temperature in the Twin Cities at 8 a.m. was 13 degrees.
