There are activities throughout the day as Central Illinois celebrates the nation’s independence. In each community, fireworks begin at dusk.  In Pontiac, the annual fireworks show has been canceled due to the dry conditions.

Bloomington: Fourth of July in Miller Park; all day; Celebrate America concert (7 p.m.); no dogs, bikes or fireworks (including sparklers) allowed in park. The Pantagraph’s Celebrate America show begins at 7 p.m. at the bandstand,

Chenoa: 2 p.m.-dusk, downtown

Clinton: all day, downtown Clinton square and near Clinton High School/Junior High School

Downs: all day, Dooley Park (fireworks were Tuesday)

Dwight: all day, downtown

Eureka: All day, Eureka Lake Park.

Heyworth: begins 6 a.m., Centennial Park, west of Heyworth.

Hopedale: all day, downtown and Hopedale Park

Lincoln: all day, Lincoln Park District on Primm Road

Normal:  Fourth of July at Fairview Park; all day, Fairview Park, Normal

Paxton: all day, Pells Park

Sibley: begins 9 a.m., Sibley Lake and downtown Sibley

Streator: all day through July 8; downtown and various locations

Towanda: all day, downtown and other locations
