NORMAL — An autopsy will be conducted Monday on a 20-year-old Tazewell County and Illinois State University student killed in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning.
McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling identified the victim as Jacob Garber of Morton.
Kimmerling said at about 5 a.m. Sunday, rescue personnel were called to the intersection of College Ave. and Mitsubishi Motorway in Normal. The victim was wearing a seatbelt in a westbound vehicle and was pronounced dead at 6:03 a.m., she said.
The driver and two passengers of a northbound vehicle were transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal where they were treated for non-life threatening injuries, said Normal Police Chief Rick Bleichner.
After treatment of injuries, Normal Police arrested Braiton A. Holloway, 20, of Bloomington for aggravated DUI. He is currently being held at the McLean County Jail pending review of formal charges by the McLean County State’s Attorney, Bleichner said.
Normal Police traffic crash reconstruction specialists are investigating the cause of the crash. The Normal Fire Department also responded to the scene.
