Jeffrey Beightler

SAYBROOK — Master Sgt. Jeffrey A. Beightler, of Saybrook, a soldier with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 404th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, based in Normal, retired after 36 years of service.

He began serving in the Illinois Army National Guard in 1980, then served on active duty from 1986 to 1990 before returning to the guard.

His assignments included Camp Casey, South Korea; Fort Carson, Colo.; deployments to Iraq and Kuwait; humanitarian overseas training mission to Botswana, South Africa; and 18 months with the officer training command program at Fort Benning, Ga.

He will continue his civilian job as commandant of the Illinois National Guard administered Lincoln's ChalleNGe Academy in Rantoul.

In retirement, he and his wife, Teresa, plan to travel. He has two daughters, Ashley Holmes and Erin Jordon.

Brian Kaeb

ARROWSMITH — U.S. Air Force Airman Brian W. Kaeb, son of Juanita and William Kaeb of Arrowsmith, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

He is a 2013 graduate of Leroy High School, LeRoy.
