EUREKA — Anita E. Meyer, 102, Eureka, passed away at 6:55 p.m. Thursday (Sept. 15, 2011) at Maple Lawn Homes in Eureka.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Eureka. The Rev. Joe Burns will officiate. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery. Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka is assisting the family with their arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
She was born on April 20, 1909, in Shobonier, a daughter of John and Anna Michel Kruenegal. She married Albert H. Meyer on Oct. 27, 1929, in Augsburg. He passed away on Feb. 22, 1978.
Surviving are one son, Nolan (Bonnie) Meyer, Eureka; two grandchildren, Keith (Linda) Meyer, Eureka, and Kathy (Vernon) Scott, Gravette, Ark.; five great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Anita owned and operated Meyer’s Superette grocery store in Secor, with her husband. She was fondly known as “Little Grandma.”
She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Eureka
