LeROY - Theodore Robert "Babe" Foster, 80, LeRoy, passed away Feb. 10, 2007, at Banner Hospital in Mesa, Ariz.
A memorial service will be at noon Saturday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with a visitation prior starting at 10 a.m. Deacon John Leonard, Gibson City, a great-nephew, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bellflower Community Center or the LeRoy Ambulance Department.
Theodore was born May 28, 1926, in Bellflower, a son of John and Bessie Foster. They preceded him in death. He married Betty Jean Culbertson Foster in Mississippi on April 23, 1955. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Gene (Jan) Culbertson, Bloomington, and Mike (Missy) Foster, Batavia; two daughters, Diana (Gary) Bonds, Heyworth, and Denise (Marc) Meyer, Hudson; one brother, Dean (Maxine) Foster, Lexington, Va.; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by 10 brothers and sisters.
He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, American Legion in Gibson City and Local 99 Pipe Fitters Union in Bloomington.
He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and a member of the Road Runners Camping Club in Gibson City for many years. He was an explorer Scout leader in Gibson City. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. You may also remember him as "Ted," "Babe" or "Uncle Dumpy."
Theodore was a wonderful man, loving husband, father and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
