NORMAL - Louise B. Tettemer, 89, Evergreen Village, Normal, died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday (June 30, 2009) at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, Bloomington.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Aug. 8 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, Bloomington.
Memorials may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4114 E. Oakland Ave., Bloomington, IL 61704 or Humane Society of Central Illinois. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Youngstown, Ohio, daughter of John and Susanna Teremy Bidner.
She is survived by a daughter, Jody (Sam) Linton, Bloomington; son, Clair (Sue) Tettemer, Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren, Michael Linton, Lake in the Hills, and Susanne (Tim) Pletz, Glen Ellyn; stepgrandchildren, Deb (Mark Peterson) Tobias and Greg Tobias, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; sister, Betty (Jack) Kinsner, Avon Lake, Ohio; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl Bidner, John Bidner and Robert Bidner; and one sister, Helen Majetic.
Louise graduated from Ohio State University in 1942. She worked for Northern Illinois University for 25 years in the library's acquisition department. She will be remembered for her wit, spunk and devotion to family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Evergreen Village, the staff of OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center, and especially Dr. Blair Valentine for their compassionate care.
