BLOOMINGTON - Johnnie Mae Cotton, 58, of 606 No. 1 E. Mulberry St., Bloomington, passed away Wednesday (Jan. 10, 2007) at her residence.

Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bloomington. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Father Ric Schneider will officiate. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Memorials may be made to the Heart & Lung Association or to a charity of the donor's choice in her memory. Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

Johnnie was born Aug. 21, 1948, in Natchez, Miss., the daughter of John Cotton and Bessie Gibson Bryant.

Johnnie is survived by daughter, Karen (Ronnie) Cotton-Berry, Bloomington; two sisters, Delores (Jimmie) Rogers and Frances (Oscar) Witherspoon, both of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Kyle Cotton-Berry, Lauren R. Berry, Renna Y. Berry and Ronnie Berry Jr., all of Bloomington; special nephew, Michael (Carolina) Smith, Downs; two nieces, Trini Wiley and Tracy Jones, both of Bloomington; goddaughter, Jennifer Johnson, Bloomington; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Henry Cotton.

She is a former employee of Eurest, and worked for the youth services and cared for many children over the years. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and will be missed by all who loved her.
