DANVERS - H. Dale McClure, 79, of 700 E. Walnut St., Bloomington, formerly of Danvers, died at 2:10 a.m. Friday (Jan. 12, 2007) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church, Danvers, with the Rev. Rick Tindall officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church, with a Masonic service at 7 p.m., conducted by the Normal Masonic Lodge 673, AF&AM.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Danvers, or the Marc Center, Bloomington. Arrangements are being handled by Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Home, Danvers.
He was born Nov. 16, 1927, at Gridley, a son of A.J. and Lorene Shoemaker McClure. He married LaVerne Otto on Feb. 15, 1948, at Danvers. She died Dec. 11, 1988.
Surviving are one son, Randy McClure, Danvers; two daughters, Marcia Scott, Normal, and Linda McClure, Bloomington; three brothers, Glenn McClure, Normal; Keith (Linda) McClure, Louisiana, Mo.; and Jack (Phyllis) McClure, Danvers; four sisters, Ruth Yoder, Orvetta Girdler and Carol Maurer, all of Normal; and Claudene (William) Deterding, Danvers; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Marty McClure; and one brother, Emery McClure.
Dale had formerly worked at Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Danvers, from 1948-1992. He enjoyed golfing, camping, boating and spending time at the cabin. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Danvers; the Danvers Lions Club; and Danvers Masonic Lodge.
