BLOOMINGTON - Maxine L. Demry, 72, Bloomington, died at 10:05 a.m. Monday (Aug. 28, 2006) at LeRoy Manor Nursing Center, LeRoy.

Private memorial services will be Friday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with the Rev. Richard Gray officiating. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Kenney. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Heyworth Library or McLean County Humane Society.

She was born Oct. 24, 1933, at Bloomington, a daughter of Thornton Dick and Virginia Reeves Strange.

Surviving are one son, Tom Demry, Bell, Fla.; two daughters, Cheryl (Wolf) Bach and Laurie Demry (Jay Dow), all of Downs; and one granddaughter, Meghan Toohill, Springfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.

She was a loving mother who made her children and granddaughter the priority in her life. She left them with her same love of animals and nature. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and animals, especially cats.
