PONTIAC - Pearl D. Carwyle, 90, Pontiac, formerly of Mississippi, died at 7:11 a.m. Wednesday (July 8, 2009) in the emergency room of OSF Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center, Pontiac.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Thaxton Baptist Church, Thaxton, Miss. Burial will be at Thaxton Community Cemetery, Thaxton, Miss. A visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Browning Funeral Home, Pontotoc, Miss. A local visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Pontiac. The family suggests memorials be left to the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Pearl was born March 3, 1919, in Ingomar, Miss., a daughter of Baron and Ella Armstrong Dillard. She married Roy E. Carwyle on Sept. 9, 1939, in Ingomar, Miss. He preceded her in death on July 23, 1985.
Survivors include one son, Rickey (Candice) Carwyle, Pontiac; one daughter, Peggy (LeRoy) Burgess, Norway, Ill.; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pearl was preceded in death by one son in infancy; one sister, Betty Fike; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Pearl was educated in Ingomar, Miss., schools and retired after 15 years from Richard-Wilcox Co. in Aurora.
