CLINTON - Clarence "Deb" Hilbert Linthicum, 82, of 16 Liberty Lane, Clinton, died at 9:15 a.m. Monday (April 21, 2008) at Manor Court, Clinton.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Pastor John Hafermann officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton, with military honors. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Forsyth, or St. Louis Children's Hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Logan County, the son of Clarence O. and Louisa Oertwig Linthicum. He married Mary N. Menapace on Feb. 27, 1949, at Zion Lutheran Church, Chestnut.
Survivors include his wife, Mary N. Linthicum, Clinton; three daughters, Marsha (Frank) Lusk, Jacksonville, Fla.; and Michele Freeman (Ray) Zacholski and Melonie (Mike) Tilley, both of Clinton; five grandchildren, Danielle Gash and Jess Gash, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; Matthew Tilley, Clinton; Mark (Katy) Tilley, Bloomington; and Ryan (Amanda) Freeman, Clinton; five great-grandchildren, Cierra Mills, Tyler Mills and Sydnee Gash, all of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Michael Tilley and Riley Freeman, both of Clinton; and a sister, Eileen Wene, Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Forsyth.
Clarence served in the U.S. Marines from 1944 to 1946 in Okinawa, Japan. He was the owner of Linthicum Construction in Clinton for 42 years. He was a member of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club of Clinton.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all.
