PONTIAC - Frances I. Funk, 83, rural Pontiac, died at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday (July 8, 2009) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Her funeral will be at noon Saturday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, with the Rev. Gretchen Stinebaugh officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

She was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Dwight, daughter of William C. and Matilda Ramlow Skonetski. She married William R. Funk on July 12, 1947, in Pontiac. He passed away June 11, 1995.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandi (Keith) Hamilton, Cornell, and Debbie (Rich) Schott, Pontiac; three grandchildren, Kendra Elberson, Angela Gunski and Peter Maubach; three great-grandchildren; and four stepgranddaughters.

Frances leaves behind her faithful companion, her dog Angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, one sister and two brothers.

She was a member of Cornell First Baptist Church.

She was retired from Fox Center in Dwight. After retirement, Frances worked at Wal-Mart in Pontiac.

She attended Dwight Grade School and is a graduate of Dwight Township High School.
