NORMAL - F. Wayne Mohr, 74, Normal, passed away Tuesday (Jan. 1, 2008) at Meadows Mennonite Home, where he has been a resident the past 3½ years.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. today at the Mennonite Church of Normal, 805 S. Cottage Ave., Normal, with the Rev. Ron Ropp and the Rev. Jane Roeschley officiating. There will be a visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.

Wayne was born May 15, 1933, in Brokaw Hospital, a son of Floyd J. Mohr and Mildred Robinson. His parents and one daughter-in-law, Jolee Robb Mohr, preceded him in death. He married Bonnie Hoxsey on March 17, 1956, in Effingham.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Randy (Penny Adams) Mohr, Yorkville; Ray (Jill Alexander) Mohr, Danvers; and Robb Mohr, Taylorville; one daughter, Angela (Mark) McDonald, Kings Mill, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, Chris, Josh, Adam, Melinda, Nick and Sophie Mohr, Yorkville; Zachary, Jordan and Kayli Mohr, Danvers; Toree Mohr, Taylorville; and Megan and Carrie McDonald, Kings Mill, Ohio. His stepmother, Edna Bigger Mohr, Normal; brother, Larry (Mary) Mohr, Normal; and sister Nancy (Don) Messamore, Arrowsmith, also survive.

Wayne loved the family farm, the Guernsey cow, the McLean County Fair and Redbird Athletics. He was a McLean County Fair dairy superintendent and received the Golden Clover Award in 2003. Wayne was a recipient of the Illinois State Athletic Hall of Fame Stretch Miller Award in 1995. He was a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau, served on the Associated Milk Producers and the Illinois Guernsey Association boards; and was a member of the member of the Redbird Athletic Club.

He was a dairyman for many years, drove the Unit 5 school bus and transported many of the Redbird Athletic teams. Wayne was a motor route carrier for the Pantagraph for 13 years.

Memorials may be made to Redbird Athletics, Meadows Mennonite Home in Chenoa or to a charity of the donor's choice. Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
