STREATOR - Lucille G. Hamrick, 83, Streator, died Wednesday morning (July 8, 2009) at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Streator.

Her funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagi Funeral Home, Streator, with Monsignor John Prendergast officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Streator. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jim Hamrick, Greg, Trace and Seth Spangler, Dave and Sean Kewley.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Hamrick was born Oct. 22, 1925, in Streator, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Stasko Kosur. She married Joseph P. Hamrick on Nov. 10, 1943, at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1993.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane Ann (David) Kewley, Manville; two sons, Tom Hamrick, Streator, and Tim Hamrick, Manville; three grandchildren, Debbie (Greg) Spangler, Jim (Anne) Hamrick and Sean (Saskia) Kewley; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Patrick Hamrick; and five brothers, Frank, Edward, Walter, Vick and Joseph in infancy.

Lucille had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co. and later was a certified nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital. Following her retirement, she volunteered at St. Mary's Hospital and enjoyed participating in cardiac rehab.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. She devoted many hours making rosaries for the Africa Genesis Foundation that were sent to different countries, as well as gifts for family and friends.

Lucille enjoyed her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. She attended St. Mary's grade School and Streator High School.
