LEXINGTON - Dorothy M. Benz, 77, Lexington, died at 10:20 p.m. Monday (July 7, 2008) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

Cremation rites will be accorded. There will be a private family interment in Lexington Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, PO Box 806457, Chicago, IL 60680-4125.

Calvert & Musselman Funeral Home, Lexington, is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy was born March 9, 1931, and is survived by a daughter, Samantha Buss, Lexington; a son, Clay Benz of Florida; a grandson, Kevin Moss, Lexington; and a brother, Bill (Pat) Alexander, Amarillo, Texas. Also surviving are three lifelong friends, Kiki Forest, Donna Herman and Elsa Santoy; and her dog, Buster.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Flosssie "Meme" Alexander and a sister, Donna Mackinze.

Dorothy will be missed by all who knew her.
