ELLSWORTH - Edward J. Kominoski, 76, Ellsworth, died at 8:52 am Friday (July 3, 2009) at his home.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Church of Merna with Monsignor Gerald T. Ward officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lexington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, with a prayer service at 3:30 pm. There also will be visitation at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Hospice or a charity of the donor's choice.

Ed was born June 5, 1933, in Bloomington, the son of Edward M. and Dolores Z. Corbitt Kominoski. He married Margaret Colleen Malcom on May 22, 1970 at Bloomington. She survives.

Also surviving are six children, Elizabeth (Mark) McKee, New Haven, Ind.; Amy (Jeff Lesher) Bess, McLean, Va.; Kim (Frank) Vincent, Mattoon; Kelli Gibbs, Asheboro, N.C.; Christi (Harry) Chang, Newman, Calif.; and Michael (Kathy) Bess, Charleston; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ed graduated from Trinity High School, Bloomington, and served with the U.S. Army in Germany.

He completed his plumber's training in Bloomington and retired in 1998 after 45 years of employment with Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 99, Bloomington.

Ed was a member of several Bloomington organizations, including St. Patrick Church of Merna, the Knights of Columbus and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 99.
