Bernadine E. Livingston, 90, of Richmond, lived a long and dynamic life, and died Sunday (Nov. 5, 2017) at her daughter's home in Richmond.
Her actions were rooted in service to others, privately and publicly, and she loved Christ and God’s creation fully. She raised four children and loved the children and grandchildren of her second and third husbands. She was an icon among her great-grandchildren of longevity and strength. Professionally, Bernadine created a large and successful inner-city preschool before she began her degree in education and then enjoyed a long and successful career in elementary education.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Krueger; daughters, Lois Collins, Phoenix, Ariz.; Luann (Tom) Spraker, New River, Ariz.; Elise (George Zimmermann) Livingston, Richmond; and Luther (Estella) Livingston Jr., Allegan, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Luther Livingston and Charles Stubbs; and a brother, Eugene Trainer.
Her memorial service will be at noon Sunday at Community Church of Richmond, 5714 Broadway, Richmond. Interment will be in Sheep of the Good Shepherd Cemetery, Allegan, Mich.
She will be remembered with love and gratitude.
