Curt Raydon, 84, of Forest Hills, Sam Rayburn, Texas, passed away Saturday (March 3, 2018) at home.
A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home, Jasper, Texas.
A native and former resident of Bloomington, he resided in Forest Hills, Sam Rayburn, Texas, for the past 27 years. He played baseball and was signed by the Milwaukee Braves for around a year and then traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1952. He loved fishing and hunting and was a member of the Mayflower Hunting Club for over 20 years. Curt was a devoted husband, and the best father that a son could ever have, always finding the time to take his family fishing and every day that goes by is one day closer to them seeing him again.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Donna Malinowski Raydon, Forest Hills, Sam Rayburn, Texas; a son, Mick (Rita) Raydon, Magnolia, Texas; a sister, Jo Anne Thoennes, Bloomington; and three grandchildren, Derek (Kate) Raydon, Wesley (Cyrah) Wood and Dylan Wood; and a nephew, Terry Thoennes.
