EL PASO — Doris Louise White, 86, El Paso, passed away at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 28, 2012) at Heritage Health, El Paso.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso. The Rev. Wes Ooms will officiate. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the El Paso Food Pantry.
She was born Jan. 27, 1926, in rural Palestine township, a daughter of Marion and Gladys Van Scyoc Potter.
She married John Carr in August 1948 in El Paso. He passed away in August 1965. She then married Dr. Richard White in April 1966 in El Paso. He passed away in November 1998.
Survivors include Thomas F. (Gladys) Carr, Secor; Timothy W. (Donna) Carr, El Paso; April L. (Larry Miller) Carr, El Paso; Joe (Terri) Carr, El Paso; Lance A. (June) White, Worcester, Ohio; and Nathan H. (Vicky) White, Trenton; 20 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cleo and Mary; one grandson, Ryan Carr; and her beloved dog, Sarah.
Doris was a member of the El Paso Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, planting flowers and doing housework.
