Dorothy Sprague, 80, of Maroa, entered into Heaven at 12:45 p.m. Sunday (Sept. 10, 2017) surrounded by her loving family in her home.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Maroa United Methodist Church, Maroa, with the Rev. Mary Alice Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Maroa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton.

Dorothy was born Sept. 12, 1936, in Weldon, the 10th child of Charles and Edith O’Daffer Carr. She was a graduate of DeLand-Weldon High in 1954. She married Ross Ferrill on Nov. 28, 1954, in Clinton. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1989. She then married Robert Sprague of Weldon, on May 1, 1994. Dorothy was a homemaker who farmed alongside her late husband, Ross. Then, later assisted her husband, Bob, with farming and his business, Bob’s Roast Beef.
Dorothy leaves behind her husband, Robert Sprague; daughters, Tina (Chuck) Leach, Toni Shoemaker, Tami (Jeff) Matthews, and son, Thomas (Tracy) Ferrill, all of Maroa; stepchildren, Linda (Steve) Fasick, Decatur; Scott (Elise) Sprague, Penfield; brother, Bob Carr; sisters, Annie Hall, Kay Carr and Carolyn (Mike) Perkins; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ross; daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Tom Hogan; five sisters; and six brothers.
