Geneva E. Coit, 87, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday (March 1, 2018) at Advocate BroMenn Medical, Center, Bloomington.
She was born May 21, 1930, in Lexington, to William and Leona (Smith) White. She married Ronald J. Coit on July 2, 1954. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2012. Her parents; four siblings; one grandson, Ryan; and her great-grandson, Princeton, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her four children, Debbie Devine, Bloomington; Rick Coit, Normal; Ron (Kaye) Coit, Farmer City; and Lori Rogers, Bloomington; one brother, Roger White, Fairbury; seven grandchildren, Josh, Stephanie, Stacie, Melissa, Melinda, Sara and Ginni; six great-grandchildren, Peyton, Preston, Grayson, Olivia, Maksden, and Jack. Also surviving are Alex and Katie, who were like her grandchildren.
Geneva was a member of Fairway Knolls Church of the Nazarene, Bloomington, and worked as an associate for Kmart for many years before retiring. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and special friends, David and Janey. She was also an avid Cardinal baseball and Viking football fan.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial of the urn will follow the service at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairway Knolls Church of the Nazarene.
