Howard Gene "Dick" Douglas, 76, of Bloomington, passed away 4:40 a.m. Tuesday (March 6, 2018) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
A graveside service will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at Rosewood Cemetery, rural Bloomington, with Pastor Mickey Fuson officiating. Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
Howard was born July 8, 1941, in Bloomington, to Roy and Oma Moran Douglas. He married Shirley Ann Krueger on May 7, 1960, in Bloomington. She preceded him in death on Oct. 1, 2015. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Douglas, and son-in-law, Randy Kilpatrick.
He is survived by three children, Sheila Kilpatrick, Terry (Paula) Douglas and Sherry (James) Lilienthal; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Raymond (Cindy) Douglas, Roy (Peggy) Douglas, Mary (Ken) Jones, Nancy Wolford, Carl (Sue) Douglas and Jim (Alene) Douglas.
Howard retired from Purity Bakery, BroMenn Hospital and Luther Oaks. He attended West Twin Grove Christian Church, loved camping and NASCAR. Howard was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
