HEYWORTH — James “Jim” Ploense, 73, Heyworth, passed away at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday (July 24, 2012) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Cremation rites have been accorded. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, LeRoy, is in charge of arrangements.
James was born May 3, 1939, in Bloomington, son of Herman C. and Lillian Hamilton Ploense. He married Maxine Hall Ploense on June 27, 1959, at Prairie Chapel Church, Farmer City. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Sandy (Dennis) Williamson, Heyworth; one grandson, Michael James Steele, McLean; four brothers, Jerry (Eileen) Ploense, Bloomington; David Ploense, Heyworth; Ken (Evelyn) Ploense, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Mark (Elaine) Ploense, Bloomington; one sister Margie (Steve) Deiter, Heyworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
James worked at Eureka-Williams for approximately 30 years, retiring in 2000. He was an avid animal lover.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and devoted friend who will be deeply missed.
