CLINTON - Jeff Pister, 40, Clinton, died at 6:46 a.m. Monday (April 13, 2009) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with J. Kent Hickerson officiating. Interment will be at Lisenby Cemetery, Lane. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the education fund for his children Meghan and Hannah.
He was born Feb. 14, 1969, in Clinton, son of Jim and Kathy DeLancy Pister. He married Tisha Burton on Sept. 7, 1991, at Clinton.
Surviving are his wife, Tisha Pister, Clinton; parents, Jim and Kathy Pister, Clinton; two daughters, Meghan Pister, 12, and Hannah Pister, 9, both at home; brother, Toby Pister, Clinton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Essel and Betty Burton, Clinton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dale and Mattie DeLancy, and paternal grandparents, Doran and Norma Pister.
Jeff was a member of Carpenters Local 63, working for Associated Constructors. He was an NRA member and enjoyed sports shooting. His Sunday morning ritual was listening to "House of Hair." Jeff was a loving husband, dad and son, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
