EL PASO – Joe Carr, 52, rural El Paso, passed away at 3:46 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 16, 2012) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Joe gave his life to the Lord on Sept. 1, 2010. He attended Community Bible Fellowship Church in El Paso where his funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Wes Ooms will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, El Paso. Burial will be in Centennial Cemetery, rural El Paso.

He was born June 19, 1960, in Bloomington, son of John and Doris L. Potter Carr. He married Terri Hodel on Aug. 18, 1979. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Josh (Julie) Carr, El Paso; Chris Carr, Bloomington; and Luke (Allison) Carr, El Paso; two brothers, Thomas (Gladys) Carr, Secor, and Tim (Donna) Carr, El Paso; one sister, April Carr, El Paso; two stepbrothers, Lance (June) White, Worchester, Ohio, and Nathan (Vickey) White, Trenton; many nieces and nephews; his grandchildren, Will and Hannah and one on the way; and his dog, Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepfather, Richard White; and his nephew, Ryan Carr.
Joe was a truck driver for Darnall Concrete in Normal for 26 years. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix anything. He was known for his mechanical and carpentry skills.
Family and friends came first with Joe. He was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who was in need. He cherished spending time with his sons, tinkering on their cars and fixing up their houses. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and could always bring a smile to your face.
