REDDICK — John Thomas Clark Jr., 80, Reddick, passed away Monday (July 19, 2010) at his home.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood chapel, with the Rev. Dean officiating.

Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, and 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery in Kankakee.

He was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Kankakee, son of John Thomas and Mildred Reed Clark Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Verna McLane Clark, Reddick; four daughters, Rebecca (Richard) Morgan, Gardner; Amy (Kevin) Wancho, Reddick; Mary Clark, Kankakee; Carol (Paul) Jepsen, Reddick; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Cindy) Morgan, Gina Morgan, Katie (Brian) Johnson, Cassie (Kevin) Cate, Denali Jepsen and Elizabeth Jepsen; and four great-grandchildren, Madison and Colin Morgan, Hayden Johnson and Mack Cate.

John was a member of the Zoar Community Church in Reddick, serving as trustee. He held offices in the Lions club in Reddick. He was a lifetime member of the Farm Bureau, a member of Masonic Lodge 573 in Gardner, and the Kankakee County Corn Growers Association. John was currently serving on the Essex Township Board and was a former board member for Union Hill Elevator. John was a lifelong farmer of the Reddick area.

He was an avid sports fan and loved the New York Yankees. He also enjoyed hunting and playing cards.
