Lois D. Severns, 105, of Mackinaw, passed away Wednesday (Nov. 1, 2017) at Hopedale Nursing Home.
Lois was born Jan. 4, 1912, in Hattiesburg, Miss., to Charles and Bess Keeton Bugg. She married Earl "Jack" Severns. He preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were one sister, Edra; two brothers, Charles and Arthur; two sons, Robert and Jim; and one grandson, David.
Lois is survived by two daughters, Janis (John) Fisher, Fort Worth, Texas, and Linda (Larry) Young, Mackinaw; two sons, Errol Severns, Biloxi, Miss., and Charlie (Joy) Severns, Mackinaw; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Lois was an active member of Mackinaw United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served on many committees. She was a member of Mackinaw Young at Heart and Red Hat Society. Lois worked at Oak Knoll TB Sanitarium in Mackinaw Township as secretary and rehabilitation director for over 25 years.
Her service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mackinaw United Church. The Rev. Shelly Forrest will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at her church. Burial will be at Mackinaw Township Cemetery. Haensel Funeral Home, Mackinaw, is assisting the family with arrangements.

The family would like to thank Dr. Matt Rossi and staff and the staff at Hopedale Hospital for their compassionate care over the years. Lois will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, faith and community.
