Loren Edward Murphy, 48, of Farmer City, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Friday (Nov. 3, 2017) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.
A casual gathering of friends will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Victory Christian Center, Farmer City, where friends and family can meet and tell stories about Loren. Memorial contributions may be made to Carle Foundation Hospital Rehabilitation Unit. Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, is in charge of arrangements.
Loren was born Feb. 21, 1969, in Monticello, to Herschel and Elda Lembke Murphy. He married Khristina Lee Kirk on Nov. 29, 1997, in Farmer City. She survives in Farmer City.
He is survived by his children, Damien Murphy, Kenny Murphy and Chelsea Ferguson, all of Farmer City; sisters, Julie Murphy Graning, Farmer City; Pam (Kelly) Lyle, Bloomington; and Donna Sue Nickison, Grant City, Mo.; and brothers, Ray (Cathy) Murphy, Johnsonville, and Thomas (Donna) Murphy, Brodhead, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David Lee and Von Haas.
Loren worked at Cabinetland in Farmer City for 30 years.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, son and friend to many. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.
