Margaret Elizabeth Nendza, 72, of Lake Wildwood, Varna, passed away 4:17 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 28, 2018) at OSF HealthCare St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, 513 Carroll St., Henry. Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Church of St. John XXIII Parish, 401 South St., Henry, with visitation at the church an hour prior to the service. Father John Bosco will officiate. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lacon. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Margaret was born May 16, 1945, in Melrose Park, to Leo and Lorraine (Hooker) Brewer. She married Russell Nendza on Sept. 12, 1970, in Bensenville. He survives in Varna.
Surviving are her children, Michelle Wolf and Deb Nendza, both of Palatine; Jennifer (Dr. Tom) Murphy, Pontiac; and Beth (Adam) Volpp, Sycamore; her grandchildren, Courtney Wolf, Matt Calzada, Cate Volpp, Spencer Rose Volpp, T.J. Murphy and Sara Murphy; her mother-in-law, Grace Nendza, DeKalb; brother, Leo (Dawn) Brewer, Oregon; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Pink, DeKalb.
Her parents; one sister, Catherine McDowell; father-in-law, Mitchell Nendza; and a sister-in-law, Janice Pink, preceded her in death.
She was a proud homemaker who also spent many years sharing her love of crocheting and sewing by working at JoAnn Fabrics in Palatine and Lake Zurich. She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Illinois Valley Herb Guild.
