CARLOCK — Marion George Fogle, 94, of Carlock passed away at 12:15 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 19, 2014) at Asta Care Center, Bloomington.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carlock Christian Church. The Rev. Kathryn Frus will officiate. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

The family suggests memorials be made to the Carlock Christian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Otto-Argo-Calvert Memorial Home, Carlock.

Marion was born Dec. 2, 1919, in Kansas Township, Carlock, the son of George W. and Edna L. Woosley Fogle. He married Norma Jane Holliger on Jan. 20, 1945, in Bloomington. She passed away Dec. 14, 2001.

Surviving are his son, Ron (Pat) Fogle, Danvers; granddaughter, Leslie (Peter) Betz, Carlock; great-grandson, Alexander “Alex” Betz, Carlock; sister, Vivian Brooks, Indiana; and brother, Weldon Fogle, Carlock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lyle; and two sisters, Mona Meinders and Wilma Fogle.

Marion owned and operated Marion Fogle & Son Excavating and Farm Drainage, Carlock, for over 50 years. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Union Local 649 since 1948. Marion served as road commissioner of White Oak Township for 14 years and he was also on the original town board of Carlock. He was a member of the Carlock Christian Church.
