Michele Lynn Wert, 47, longtime resident of Aperion Care, Bloomington, passed away 2:57 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 5, 2017) at the nursing home.
She was born June 28, 1970, in Bloomington, the daughter of Wendell and Kay Franz Wert.
Michele graduated from Raymond School in Bloomington. She lived and worked with the Marc Center in Bloomington for many years, sorting material until she became physically unable. She had been a resident of Aperion Care for the past 17 years. She loved puzzles, blocks and visitors. She always waved, had a bright smile on her face and loved to laugh. Michele thoroughly enjoyed small hand purses. She was a huge fan of Hello Kitty.
Michele is survived by her brother, Dwayne (Elaine Evans) Wert, Normal; her sister, Tammy (Sherrill) Leslie, Bloomington; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Carlen, Bloomington; five nephews, Chris, Devan, Glenn, Tyler and John; and four nieces, Heidi, Tammy, Destiny and Savannah.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lova and Ilma Wert, and her maternal grandfather, Edward Carlen.
Her service will be 10 a.m. Nov. 17 at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Entombment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Bloomington. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
