Norma Leigh Cumpston Bielfeldt, 88, of Anchor, passed away 1:37 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 11, 2018) at her home.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Anchor. The Rev. C. Edward Hudelson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, and at the church one hour prior to the funeral.
Norma was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Cropsey, the daughter of Clarence and Lucy Huston Cumpston Eisenberger. She married Donald Bielfeldt on Jan. 7, 1951. He survives.
Also surviving are her two children, Michael (Dianne) Bielfeldt, Towanda, and Diane (Michael) Wright, Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Drew) Huntleigh, Stefanie (Ricky) Hildreth, Matthew (Rachel) Grizzle, Darren Leu, Dena (Aaron) Bagnell, Hailey (Mike) Grace and Miles (Nicole) Wright; 14 great-grandchildren, Javion, Anthony, Aramis, Melissa, Brandon, Taylor, A.J., Emma, Ethan, Abby, Dalton, Maddox, Reagan, Kiley; two brothers, Warren (Shirley) Cumpston and Charles "Jimmy" (Shirley) Cumpston; along with many nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her three sisters, Audrey Cumpston Bielfeldt, Shirley Cumpston Schleeter, and Dorothy Cumpston March, and one brother, Kenneth Cumpston.
Norma graduated from Anchor High School in 1947 and worked at Eureka-Williams, Ideal Dispenser, Dr Pepper of Georgia, Crop-Fax, Meiner's Farm Service and Anchor Grain. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Anchor, and was active at St. John’s in the Women’s Dorcas. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
