GOODFIELD - Robert M. Philabaun II, 59, of 418 W. Belaire Court, Goodfield, formerly of Ingleside, died at 8:32 a.m. Sunday (March 5, 2006) at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke.
He was born on Oct. 21, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to Robert M. and Helen McCandlish Philabaun. He married Sharolyn Alexander and then later married Linda Weast.
Surviving are two daughters, Sarah (Wes) Sears of Eureka, and Rachel (Rob) Billings of Colorado Springs, Colo.; his mother, Helen of Edwardsville; two brothers, Gerald (Phyllis) Philabaun of Glen Carbon and Roger (Tamara) Philabaun of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandsons, Aden Sears and Brock Billings; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Bob graduated from Edwardsville High School and attended Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served his country in Vietnam.
Bob enjoyed a 30-year career with FS, which took him from the Edwardsville area to southern Illinois. He was then transferred to Des Moines, Iowa, and worked in the transportation division of GROWMARK, which prepared him for three general manager positions in Iowa and Illinois. His last position was general manager of ConServ FS in the Chicago area.
Bob loved to travel and especially enjoyed fishing. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Valley View Cemetery Chapel in Edwardsville. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Argo-Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home in Eureka.
