LeROY — William E. Pillow, 74, LeRoy, passed away at 11:42 a.m. on Monday (Sept. 20, 2010) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Private memorial services will be Saturday at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded. Entombment will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Mrs. Pillow would like to invite family and friends to her home from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday for food and fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
He was born Dec. 19, 1935, in Enfield, son of Ellis E. and Barbara C. Naas Pillow. He married Carol Coleman on Sept. 15, 1967.
Surviving are his wife, LeRoy; two sons, Jeff Pillow, LeRoy, and Jamie (Dawn) Pillow, Cooksville; one daughter, Julie Martin, Urbana; and five grandchildren, Daniel, Andrew, Jared, Justin and Shelby. Also surviving are one brother, Frank Pillow, La Valle, Wis., and four sisters, Joyce (Bud) Moreland, Ruth Huth and Sharon Hochstatter, all of LeRoy; and Donna Pillow, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
William was an electrician and worked for Electricians Union, Local 197 for 40 years, retiring in 1998.
He was an avid fisherman, gardener and camper. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
