NORMAL — A Normal restaurant has announced on social media that it has closed its doors.

Swinger's Grille, located at 1304 Cross Creek Drive, is closed permanently, according to a Facebook message posted around 9 a.m. Monday.

“With a heavy heart, and much thoughtful consideration, the owners of Swinger’s Grille have officially closed the doors of its Normal location after 11 years of service. A steady decline of business and increasing costs has made it impossible to continue doing business," states the posting.

“We want to thank all our loyal patrons who have supported us over the years. We also want to thank all our management and staff who have been so dedicated to our company and its mission to serve our guests. We are privileged to have been a part of such a wonderful community and to have served so many loyal guests.”

Efforts to reach the owners were not successful Monday morning.

According to the post, the restaurant will refund any unused valid gift cards. Starting Jan. 3, any outstanding gift card balances can be redeemed for a balance refund by check through Feb. 2 in the All Seasons Golf Learning Center shop.

All Seasons Off Track Betting was located at the same address. It closed temporarily in 2016, but re-opened about a year ago. The status of off-track betting is not yet known.
