What a shame about the closing of the David Davis Mansion and the many other Lincoln sites. The 200th anniversary of his birth next year makes the closings even more of a tragedy.
I heard that the David Davis Mansion brings many vacation dollars to our community. That too will hurt.
I don't know who is really to blame, the legislators or the governor. I guess it really doesn't matter because it is a done deal, but I just have one question - do you think if all of the Lincoln sites were in Chicago, they would be closing? Think about it!
