I want to express my support for the McLean County sheriff's deputies.

Every day and every night, these people put their lives on the line for us. They serve and protect us in rain, ice, snow, storms and heat.

I know many McLean County residents who are deeply grateful for the faithful duty that these brave policemen and women perform.

They have been put off for one whole year by one or two board members. Stop playing Ebenezer Scrooge and pay these people a decent wage.

We live in safety because of these deputies. I'm thankful for them.
