My elderly mother and I visited Bloomington this past weekend. We had reservations at the Country Inn and Suites on East Empire Street. We found out the hard way that there are no street signs for Empire Street as you are traveling down Veteran’s Parkway — north or south.

We also found out the hard way that, as you are leaving town via Interstate 55, because of the road construction there is a detour in order to reach Interstate 39 northbound, but the detour signs indicating which way to turn are not at the intersection of the detour but are, instead, about a half mile down the road.

We had no idea that psychic powers were necessary in order to travel successfully in Bloomington.
