On June 26, a Humane Society of Central Illinois sign was stolen. The sign was custom-made, purchased by a gracious volunteer and said, "We have kittens. Come in and see."

It is sad that, just for the thrill of it, people would do something like this that affects helpless animals. In the past few weeks, the sign has brought in many viewers to adopt animals.

I cannot imagine why someone would steal a sign that was meant to help adopt animals. A new sign is not in the budget. Please bring our sign back so that the Humane Society can continue to adopt out the kittens in the shelter. For those reading this out of interest, come into the Humane Society and meet your new best friend.
