Help changing tire much appreciated

Saturday afternoon my wife had a completely flat tire several hundred yards from our home. As I was preparing to try changing the wheel, a vehicle drove up and offered to help. I'm 84, so I was happy to have the offer.

He did all of the heavy work and when offered something, he refused to take it, not even wanting to give us his name.

We live on a side street that he, his wife and daughter - a fine arts student at Illinois Wesleyan University - were driving down to see the fall color.

It is so refreshing to see people helping others, unlike those striving to make millions from questionable deals in financial markets. All I learned was that they lived in Herscher near Kankakee. Our sincere thanks to them.
