We have not yet adapted to Obamanation and already the media is foisting Palination on us.
Gov. Sarah Palin gushed that the future of America lies with its Republican governors.
I'd be content if just one of them could take over Illinois. When Sen. John McCain warned about the danger of both executive and legislative branches being under Democratic control, he probably had Illinois in mind.
If Gov. Rod Blagojevich, with uncharacteristic modesty, refuses to name himself U.S. senator, perhaps President Obama could find a role for him. Like ambassador to Antarctica. Rod would be good at that because he's frozen progress in Illinois.
President Bush has been throwing money at financial institutions not just like one drunken sailor but like a whole pie-eyed fleet. Now General Motors wants some of the largess and so do cities, states and universities.
Endowments have become so decimated that universities may have to terminate part-time instructors. That's terrible. That means professors would have to teach classes again.
During the recent campaign both parties resorted to using guilt by association. Republicans tied Obama with the 1960s radical Bill Ayers. Democrats tainted McCain with George Bush.
Obama joins Franklin Roosevelt as being the only presidents from Hyde Park. Bush has been the third from Texas. The key word describing his administration has been "free": free trade, free market, free fall.
Some observers believe Obama is capable of walking on water. That might be an illusion. He could be actually skating on thin ice.
And many people are happy that an African-American could be elected president. As for me, I am content that, for a change, someone with intelligence could rise to the top of the electoral process.
