Continue getting mammograms at 40

As a breast cancer survivor, I am deeply offended by the new government guidelines regarding preventative care for cancer.

The new guidelines state that mammograms are not necessary until the age of 50 and then only needed every other year.

I was 42 years old and lucky enough to be diagnosed while the cancer was at a very early stage.

I then received the very best health care available to anyone in any nation. I know several women who were also diagnosed by mammography in their 40s.

These tests are life-saving. For your own health, please ignore these new government guidelines, get your mammogram when you turn 40 — as the American Cancer Society advises — and speak out against government rationing of health care.
