This letter is in response to the Nov. 17 letter from Kathy Todt and her suggestion to include abortions in health plans.
Abortion supporters say that a woman has a right to her own body, but doesn’t that ignore the right of the unborn child’s body? Never before has the nation granted to one citizen the right to have another killed in order to solve their personal, social or economic problems.
In a case using sonographic techniques during an abortion, the outline of the child in the womb is shown thrashing to resist the suction device before it tears off the head and dismembers the child. This is murder in the first degree.
What will these people do, plead the 14th Amendment? The way the court interprets the word “liberty” in this amendment is a hopeless contradiction.
Someone doesn’t want their baby? Too much inconvenience? Thousands of United States citizens travel all over the world at great expense to find a child. Give the child to them. It’s called adoption. The child will be the joy of their lives and will have a home where they are loved and cherished.
Yes, I remember when birth control pills weren’t covered by insurance. I remember when there wasn’t even “the pill.” And yet, we managed to have three beautiful children, exactly what we desired, without birth control pills or abortion.
We do not want Obama’s health bill to pass and, as Christians, do not want any insurance plan to pay for murder.
