Consider importance of life in November

October 09, 2012 7:00 am

We are approaching a very important election in a few weeks.

Throughout the year, we have become aware of the wide difference in opinion from President Obama and Mr. Romney on the subject of the sanctity of life.

I am asking Christians to carefully weigh their opinion and vote accordingly in November.

We could ask ourselves questions – What if my mother decided I was a “mistake” and had aborted me? What are your moral responsibilities as a Christian to the unborn? It has been said after a woman has an abortion, she has deep feelings of guilt and regret. Are we not a civilized nation? Any mother who has held her precious newborn in her arms realizes the great privilege and gift from God. We nourish our young. We should not kill them before they are given the opportunity to live.

Please vote responsibly in November.

If you think you know Romney and his positions, you are crazy! He plays both sides on almost all issues including abortion. Here is an example from today: "There's no legislation with regards to abortion that I'm familiar with that would become part of my agenda," he told the Des Moines Register in an interview posted on the newspaper's website. Later, his campaign followed up with: "Gov. Romney would of course support legislation aimed at providing greater protections for life," spokeswoman Andrea Saul said, declining to elaborate. In a debate in January, Mitt says the Supreme Court should overturn Roe v Wade. So which is it Mitt? As Governor, you supported abortion and now as a Presidential candidate, you are against it? Romney might lie more than Obama! As I have stated numerous times, America is in trouble either way.

Pro-choice says the fetus a human after the second trimester. Up to that time we can abort no questions asked. Pro-choice say's even if the fetus is one day away from second trimester - - abort, not human. The pro-choicers and the democrat party are a group of very sick people. Of course they are the party of no responsibility, come vote for us will GIVE you what you want. The culture continues.

Don't limit the sanctity of life to just Christians, but encourage any and all with a conscience, to vote for life.

I will vote responsibly: I will vote to keep the government out of personal medical decisions that affect me and my family. And I'm a Christian.

Dear Letter-Writer, you as a female have and benefit from reproductive choices. That you would eliminate these choices for those who might select options different from you says volumes about superiority.

If the fetus you save is gay, will you still fight for its rights?

Phyllis, you do understand that Willard Mitt Romney has always been pro-choice. He only recently, for political purposes only, has become what you call PRO-LIFE! Besides, Legal Abortions are provided for under the Constitution and that would be changed by the Congress not the Pres.

We should not kill them before they are given the opportunity to live.

How can we kill something that isn’t alive, that hasn’t been “given the opportunity to live”?? How about sperm? Angry bible god killed a man for “spilling his seed on the ground”.

And if life is so sacred, why do we not read an endless string of letters condemning war? You have a problem with someone terminating a zygote, but not with sending our youth off to be used as cannon fodder by people who’ve never worn a uniform? One of whom fled to France to cower while his peers were conscripted and sent to Vietnam??

And if newborns are sacred, why is it that bible god killed so many? Angry bible god killed all the firstborn sons of Egypt? Why not kill their fathers instead? Why did Jesus flee to Egypt and let his infant brethren be murdered by Harod in his stead?? Why did angry bible god tell Abraham to sacrifice his son as some sort of sick joke; a test of obedience?? Any rational parent would declare “I’d rather burn in Hell than murder my own son!, but the bible teaches us that killing one’s own son is a lesson in obedience to the angry bible god.

The whole argument is a bad joke, just like christianity, god, and religion in general.
