Obamacare took $780 billion from Medicare and our senior citizens. This also includes 15 to 20 new taxes, fees or fines by 2016. Obama’s first four years put us $5 trillion in debt, which is more than any president in history.

Because of his failed policies we now have more than 46 million people on food stamps. Obama blames anyone and everyone except himself.

The unemployment is closer to 18 percent because those out of benefits aren’t counted.

As a union member, I know jobs are important but our freedom and children’s future is the most important.

I vote no for Obama.

You're right. We can't afford funding of two undeclared wars and continuing bailouts of the housing industry. Thank you for perfectly parroting the Republican/Romney talking points.

Tom Terrific
Tom Terrific

Congress has not declared war in about 70 years so what's your point?

Machrophobic

Wars cost too much money. You really missed the point here? Really?

Romney's tax cuts and other proposals are projected to add "only" $4.8 trillion to the debt. So you think we can afford HIM?

if i could get away with making a mess, walk away and then blame the guy cleaning it up i most certainly would....the cool thing about this tactic is...if it works, you get to do it all over again

I just can't get my hands around the numbers; cut taxes by $ 5 trillion, continue a $ 1 trillion tax cut, increase military spending by $ 2 trillion...........and balance the budget? I don't care how many "dancing horse" deductions you do away with, the numbers just don't add up.

In Illinois Obama will carry the state and receive the electoral votes. So unless someone sees a rabbit being pulled from a hat, Illinois will turn blue about 10 minutes after the polls close. The votes in Illinois will only be meaningful for offices other than POTUS. That's why I chuckle at all of the effort to sway voter opinion by those that post here. There's a reason why we don't see very many presidential political ads.

It's really sad that so many people spout off talking points without actually checking their facts:

We cannot afford another 4 years of incompetence, fraud, crony capitalism, income redistribution and demonization of commerce, industry and mercantilism. The past recessions were followed by robust economies as government joined with business and put people back to work. Obama? well, there are still fewer people working today than there were on the day he was inaugarated. Obama has resided over 4 straight years of Trillion dollar deficits, without benefit of budgets, since the democrats under his watch have refused to offer up a budget since Nancy Pelosi gave him the opportunity to sign the 2009 budget. Obama has put more people of food stamps, more people on disability payments, and more people on unemployment than any othe administration. The Federal Reserve is buying 60% of all of the Treasury Bonds, inflating the money supply and keeping interest rates artifucialy low, which would be OK if it were crating jobs, but it isn't. Obama is a political and economic disaster. And his only argument is a phony charge that Romney wants to increase the deficit by giving the Rich $5 Trillion dollar tax break, a lie so grandiose, his campaign manager called him out on it, the economist he quotes called him out on it, his press secretary called him out oin it, the Washington Post, New York Times, NBC, ABC and the New Yorker all pointed out that the number is made up, that the richest of us aren't getting the tax break and that the Romney Tax plan is revenue neutrtal. And all Obama can come back with is some back of the envelope calculation the Geoirge Soros Institute of Tax Fairness and Relevancy Institute insists will cost the Tax Payer $ trillion over 10 years. WEll, since this big eared clown has cost the tax Payer $6 trillion in 39 months, I would say that if it were true, which it isn't, it would still be a vast improvement.

We deserve better representation Obama, and we have an opportunity to vote for it in November. I suggest that votes have consequences and if don't want 4 more years of meretriciousness, mendacity and mediocraty, Vote. I would say vote early and often, but I believe that the Democrats have copywrited that slogan.

Happy Dem

yada yada yada...same ole lies.

Wat Tyler
Wat Tyler

And what lies would those be? That Obama signed the last budget approved by congress in 2009 for fiscal year 2009? The one Nancy Pelosi held up because it was so over the top she feared President Bush would Veto it? Sorry, but that is a fact!

Tha Obama has run 4 years of $trillion plus deficits? Sorry, but that is an undisputable fact!

That we now have a record number of families collecting food stamps andmen and women collecting government disability? Sorry, but that is a fact! Food stamps 46.68 million (Department of Agriculture) (8,786,049 on Federal Disability, Department of Labor)
Federal reserve buying 60% oif all US Tresury Bonds? (Forbes, Fed now holds $2.4 Trillion or more than twice as much Treasury debt as China) Sorry, looks like another fact.

One of Obama's main arguments is that Romneys' tax policy will increase the deficit $5 Trillion, but that argument is disputed not just by Romney, who has stated countless times that his policy will be revenue neutral, but also by econimists, Like Princeton University's Rosen, Harvard's Maniq and many others. Politifacts, the NyTimes, Washington Post and many other newspapers, TV commentators and even a couple of Obama Campaing managers have conceded that the $5 trillion figure that Obama cites is a made up figure, a scare tactic that has no basis in truth. Sorry, facts are inconvenient things, but they are what they are.

Even that siully little "Big eared clown" comment is not technically a lie. It is an opinion.

I don't expect to change closed minds, but I believe it is important to counter the propaganda that is being used to confuse people who don't pay attention. And Obama is trying very hard to confuse people about Rmoney, mainly because he has no choice. His record is horrible.

yosemite sam

What a bunch of made up garbage. If you have to make up lies to support your candidate then you've lost the argument.

Hey, Bruce, a few questions for you to answer HONESTLY:

1. That money is not a “cut” in benefits, but rather the savings in costs that the Congressional Budget Office projects over the next decade from wholly reasonable provisions in the reform law. What do you call the budget resolutions crafted by Paul Ryan and approved by the Republican-controlled House since they retain the same cut in Medicare?

2. Almost none of the savings come from reducing the benefits available for people already on Medicare. But if the regressive negativity twins repeal the reform law, as they have pledged, what will happen to the costs of prescription drugs to seniors and others, as well as preventative services?

3. How do these brainiacs plan to pay for the cost of repeals WITHOUT increasing the debt? They gonna pay for it?? Doubtful...we all are living with the costs of "compassionate conservatism", and will for decades.

If these corporatists (and their cadre of well-trained monkeys) want to rely on untested market forces to drive down insurance costs, let THEM do it. Don't force the rest of us into that bizarro world of free-market solutions to controlling medical costs and “managed care”. The past 20 years of insurance/medical industries "regulating” themselves has done nothing but cause SOARING medical costs fueled by profit vultures and greed.

The U.S. can't afford four more years of a Republican controlled Congress. Take a look at Syria if you all want to see what happens to a nation with a three thousand years plus history when differing political parties can't co-operate. We have been around only since 1776.

John McCain worked with Ted Kennedy. Mitch Romney worked with Ma. Democrats. Jim Thomson and Jim Edgar were respected and voted in by many Democrats. Why are all the hatred and lies being hurled at President Obama? I think the main reason is his skin color. If he was all white, would Republicans talk with him instead at him?

After LBJ signed into law the Civil Rights legislation the Southern Democrats joined the GOP. They didn't want Blacks to have the right to vote. A Black President would've been impossible to imagine for those bigots. They and their children have been hijacking the party ever since. You young ones think of that as ancient history. I'm old enough where that occurred in my lifetime. I don't forget. We aging hippies remember the days when we didn't trust any one in politics. We weren't party loyalists. Well, maybe for the S.D.S.

CLG4
CLG4

Mestizo, You do not understand Americian history at all. - - - - It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860s, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950s and 1960s. Ah yes, your loveable LBJ signed a Republician passed civil rights bill.

During the civil rights era of the 1960s, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs.

......Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30 to 40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. More than $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

In order to break the Democrats' stranglehold on the black vote and free black Americans from the Democrat Party's economic plantation, we must shed the light of truth on the Democrats. We must demonstrate that the Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.

Wizard

The republicans are in charge of the house. So what is your point again ?

northstar

The ignorant southern democrats that you speak of all joined the republican
party after the mid sixties.

mestizo

Yes, I do understand the history of the Democratic Party. The Democrats unfortunately tolerated wide diversity of opinion. Chicago and Boston for instance were largely Democratic and had little or no tolerance for integration. It was not just southern Dems that left, we also see others leave who can't understand Dr. King's dream of a colorblind society.

The Republican Party were the "carpetbaggers" you built schools for the freed Blacks. The KKK, who were Democrats burned down the schools, forced the teachers to leave, and left the Blacks mostly uneducated. In the decades to follow southern Whites would use literacy requirements to keep Blacks from voting. Today 90% of public school funding is paid for by local taxes. To add insult to injury Romney is asking parents to fund their childrens' college education. The trend today is to go to charter or private schools and away from public education.

Strange how society goes in a full circle. Democrats are the "carpetbaggers" of the 21rst century. Republicans were the "socialists" of the 19th century and today are like the 19th century Democrats.

This is the same MLK who stated in a letter to a civil rights supporter in October 1956 that he was undecided as to whether he would vote for Adlai Stevenson or Dwight Eisenhower, but that "In the past I always voted the Democratic ticket.."?

In his autobiography, King says that in 1960 he privately voted for Democratic candidate John F. Kennedy: "I felt that Kennedy would make the best president. I never came out with an endorsement. My father did, but I never made one." King adds that he likely would have made an exception to his non-endorsement policy in 1964, saying "Had President Kennedy lived, I would probably have endorsed him in 1964."

This is the same party whose leader, JFK, initially opposed the 1963 March on Washington outright, because he was concerned it would negatively impact the drive for passage of civil rights legislation, but the organizers (including MLK, Bayard Rustin, and several other civil rights groups) were firm that the march would proceed, as it did to a resounding success?

The March, and King's "I Have A Dream" speech, helped put civil rights at the very top of the LIBERAL political agenda in the US and facilitated passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Why is it that regressives DON'T run our inner cities? Simple -- they haven't a CLUE what the people want. They cannot address the problems because they don't SEE the root causes of the problems. Demanding idiotic adherence to authoritarian nonsense like "they need to be taught good discipline and character" is all they can blather. What it comes down to is the lies the regressives have not, until recently, spoken out loud: "Crime in our cities has nothing to do with poverty, and systemic failures, fueled by generations of institutionalized racism, but with the character of those people. If you’re poor, it’s because your culture is inferior, or because you are 'less than' others."

The inner cities are always getting us into needless wars killing hundreds of thousands of civilian bystanders and American personnel to the tune of trillions of dollars, and if they keep betting private money on derivative swaps tanking the financial market bringing down our economy one more time asking for handouts from taxpayers, I'll have half a mind not to give them the trillions of dollars they want without strings of regulation to prevent it from happening again.

I agree, the inner city needs to be taught discipline and character-building lessons of personal responsibility before they threaten the health and well-being of the country, again.

OldWestGunner

You get an "F" in history bub. The southern Democrats you lambaste with such vigor
switched to the REPUBLICAN Party decades ago. No wonder some posters in this region
believe white is black and black is white. Education is a terrible thing to waste and you did!
The Romney/Ryan candy store is open for business. Don't skip Math class either because the GOP tax cuts, war extensions (Iraq and Afghanistan), Syrian hawks, Defense spending increase etc will NEVER balance the Budget much less pay down the current Debt.

miniman

I've seen CLG4's copy and past before. And yes you are correct about the switch of the southern Democrats to the Republicans, usually associated with Nixon's southern strategy in the 60's. I also can not understand how the Romney/Ryan tax plan, and increased military spending will ever lead to a balanced budget or debt reduction.
