HOUSTON, Pa. -- The Meadows Racetrack & Casino near Pittsburgh says a global computer malfunction was to blame when some of its customers couldn't withdraw money from automatic teller machines.
Spokesman David LaTorre says the glitch affected ATMs from about 11 p.m. Friday until about 3 a.m. Saturday.
Mostly, customers just couldn't get more cash from the machines. But at least one customer says his bank account also showed withdrawals for a failed $600 transaction, even though he never received that money.
A Las Vegas company, called Global Cash Access, has confirmed the problem with its machines involved a computer outage within the Visa credit card network. GCA says customers should contact their banks to straighten out any problems.
